Bio
Jake Garfield (b. 1990) is a London-based artist working across printmaking, drawing and painting.
Boxers, pictures within pictures and damask patterns are recurring motifs in a practice that reflects on themes of masculinity, artistic persona and selfhood. In a palette of deep reds and earthy greens, his works complicate the relationship between the world of the artist, the world of the image and further worlds within.
Jake’s work has been acquired by major institutions including the British Museum, the Royal Collection, Fitzwilliam Museum, Pallant House Gallery and the V&A Museum.
